Second Half Rally Lifts Dragons Past Pioneers

The Howard Community College Men's Soccer Program picked up a much needed win over the Anne Arundel Community College Pioneers; edging them 2-1.

Howard got off to a slow start in the game going down 1-0 early in the game leaving them to have to fight to come from behind in the second half. The second half proved to be a completely different story for the men as they were able to attack the pioneers and find the back of the net. the first tally for the Dragons came at 52:01 from Emmanuel Wright (Columbia, MD, Mt. Hebron HS)  to equalize the game for the Dragon's. The game winner wouldnt come till the 79' minute mark when the Dragons were awarded a free kick. John Jones (Highland, MD, Reservoir HS) set up to take the free kick and was able to connect with Eric Gonzalez (Beltsville, MD, High Point HS) who was able to get his head to the ball and put in what proved to be the game winner for the Dragons.

The Dragon's improve to (2-4-0, 1-2-0) and will look get back on track and carry momuntum heading forward in their season. Howard will return to action Wednesday Septemper 17 as they will take to the road to face Hagerstown Community College in Maryland JUCO action; game time is set for 4pm.
