Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Dragons Set Fire to Westmoreland, Win 16-0

The HCC women's soccer team won their 10th straight victory, routing Westmoreland County CC 16-0.

The Dragons most likely set all kinds of records on Saturday, as they had 47 shots in the 1st half and 24 in the 2nd half for an astounding 71 shots in the game. Conversely, WCCC was unable to record a single shot as HCC controlled the ball almost the entire game.

With the Dragons up big early in the game, Coach Seagroves took the opportunity to move her players around a bit allowing the defensive players to get some chances on offense. This allowed for the incredible performance of Celeste Costabile (Ellicott City, MD, River Hill HS) to move off the back line and score 4 goals in the game on 11 shots. The impressive freshman campaign of Savanna Holt (West Friendship, MD, Glenelg HS) continued as she contributed 3 goals and 2 assists with Jen Craven (Damascus, MD, Damascus HS) chipping in 2 goals and 1 assist.

HCC also tallied points through a trio of players that all had a goal and 2 assists on the day as Heather Veli (Burtonsville, MD, Blake HS), Audrey Ford (Woodbine, MD, Glenelg HS), and Sydney Rynn-Mason (Columbia, MD, Pallotti HS) enjoyed productive games as well. Leading the team in assists on the day was Brittany Nixon (Columbia, MD, Oakland Mills HS) with 3. Costabile was joined up top with her fellow defensive mates Taylor Nowaskey (Clarksville, MD, River Hill HS) who scored a goal and an assist, and Lis Parks (Columbia, MD, St. Johns HS) was able to add a goal late in the 1st half.

Not to be denied a chance to add to the stat sheet was Becky Manelli (Woodstock, MD, Westminster HS) and Nikki Manning (Sykesville, MD, South Carroll HS) with a goal each and Elisa Mobley (Dayton, MD, Glenelg HS) added an assist.

The Dragons have a quick turn-around as they face conference rivals CCBC Essex on Monday October 12th at 4:00 PM.
