Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Dragons Leap Over CSM 3-0

The HCC men's soccer team traveled to La Plata, MD for an important MD JUCO match against the College of Southern Maryland and came away with a big 3-0 win. That victory allows the Dragons to leapfrog over CSM and Frederick into 6th place in the conference. 

The Dragons got the scoring started in the 43rd minute with a big goal from Sam Rivera (Sykesville, MD, Chapelgate Christian) putting in his 1st of the season as he received a nice pass from Shaheed Twyman (Columbia, MD, Oakland Mills HS) and was able to find the back of the net. 

In the 67th minute it was Colin Serio (Sykesville, MD/Century HS) scoring his 2nd of the season on a nice run on the right side found his way into the box and put a booming shot into the side netting.

Captain Jonathan Horrocks (Clarksville, MD/Mt. Hebron HS) finished off the scoring in the 81st minute as he took a long range free kick and lasered a shot into the corner for his 2nd of the year.

Goalie Brayan Czepinski (Ellicott City, MD, Marriotts Ridge HS)was troubled very little throughout the game, but was able to come up with 4 saves for the game.

The Dragons improved their overall record to 7-4-1 and their conference record to 4-3-1. They will next take on Region XX opponent Westmoreland County Community College as part of a women/men's soccer double header on Saturday October 10th with the women's game scheduled to kick-off at 1:00 PM and the men at 3:00 PM.
