The Dragons played one of their better defensive games of the season, but were unable to outlast Garrett College as they fell 81-74. The loss brings HCC's record to 3-7 on the year and 0-3 in conference.
Howard CC got out to a good start thanks to some early baskets byÂ
Kyle Davis (Washington D.C., Wakefield HS) and
 John Grant Jr. (Baltimore, MD, Baltimore City HS). HCC got up to a 5 point lead with 15 minutes left in the 1st half, but a 12-0 run by Garrett put the Lakers in the lead for good. The Dragons were plagued with poor free throw shooting as they went 16-28 from the charity line for a team that has excelled with free throws throughout the season.
Gregory Ash Jr. (West Baltimore, MD, Northwestern HS) led the Dragons with 17 points withÂ
J.P. Herbert (Gaithersburg, MD, Gaithersburg HS)Â close behind at 16 points on only 8 shots. Davis had 13 points, although he also had a costly 8 turnovers while Grant Jr. finished with 10 points.
The Dragons will next take on conference opponent Frederick CC on Saturday December 12th, tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
