Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

BCCC Overpowers Dragons 93-69

Baltimore City CC dominated the Dragons 93-69 as the HCC men's basketball team continued their struggling season. The loss is the Dragons 9th straight putting them at 3-14 on the year and 0-7 in the conference.

The Dragons fell behind early and got into quick foul trouble which allowed the Panthers to jump all over HCC. In fact, BCCC got up to as high as 32 points as the home side used their size superiority as the Dragons were forced to go with a 5 guard line-up for much of the first half. This lead to BCCC finishing with 54 points in the paint and an astounding 50 points from their bench in ensuring that the Dragons never had a lead in the game. Also a contribution to the lopsided score was the Dragons inability to hit their shots, shooting just 32% from the floor.

With the Grant twins getting into foul trouble early in the game, the burden of scoring fell to Gregory Ash Jr. (West Baltimore, MD, Northwestern HS)who had 11 points in the first half on his way to a team high 17 points and 3 blocks but also conceding 8 turnovers. Point guard Kyle Davis (Washington D.C., Wakefield HS)finished with 10 assists for the 4th time in 5 games, although only scoring on a pair of free throws.Terrell Willis (Washington D.C., Chapel Gate Christian)continues to provide a spark off the bench with 9 points from a triplet of 3-pointers whileTaequan Hall (Baltimore, MD, Glen Burnie HS)had one of his best games of the year with 12 points and 9 rebounds.

The Dragons will have a great chance to build some momentum as their next game is against lowly Chesapeake College on Wednesday January 23rd at the Dragons Lair; tip-off scheduled for 7 PM.
