The Howard CC women's basketball team went up against a powerhouse Hagerstown CC and were unable to claw their way back as they fell 75-66. The loss drops the Dragons to 8-3 on the year and 3-2 in the conference.
Playing shorthanded once again as only 6 players dressed, Howard CC was forced to play conservatively on the defensive side. However, it was the offensive side that let them down as they shot just 33% from the field and 20% from 3-point range.
Rebeka Coughlin (Sykesville, MD, Liberty HS) was back in the lineup for the Dragons and provided 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists from the bench.
Lauren Thompson (Columbia, MD, Oakland Mills HS) played the entire game and added 8 points, 6 assists, and 6 steals while
Ebony Anderson (Baltimore, MD, Catonsville HS) continued her impressive scoring streak with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Lis Parks (Columbia, MD, St. Johns HS) scored 10 points on the game, but only pulled down 6 rebounds a few days after an 18 rebound performance.
Sam Heisig (Glenelg, MD, Glenelg HS) contributed 7 points and 7 rebounds, but was significantly less effective compared to her triple-double night on Wednesday at Anne Arundel CC.
The Dragons fall to 6th in the conference with their schedule only getting tougher as they travel to West Virginia on Wednesday January 13th to take on a 7-2 Potomac State team and then travel to Baltimore City CC on Saturday January 16th to face the 2nd place team in the conference.
