Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

HCC Eventually Overwhelms Delaware Tech 15-4

After 14 minutes of scoreless play to begin the game, the #5 ranked Dragons were finally able to break through the brick wall of Delaware Tech evenually pulling away for a 15-4 victory. The win puts HCC at 3-1 for the season as they continued their impressive home winning streak.

Delaware Tech started Curtis Thompson in goal to replace their injured goalkeeper. Thompson, normally a defensive midfielder, racked up an incredible 26 saves in the game as the Dragons struggled all day to find a way through. However, the 66 shots from HCC were able to produce 15 goals as they went up 10-0 before giving up the potential shut out.

Jackson Downs (Olney, MD, Sherwood High School) led the way for the Dragons with 3 goals and 1 assist followed closely by Kevin Curcio (Lancaster, PA, Manheim Township) with 2 goals and 2 assists, Austin Mitchell (Laurel, MD, Reservoir High School) with 2 goals and 1 assist, as well as Emmanuel Nwana (Silver Spring, MD, Springbrook High School) and Zach Beard (Clarksville, MD, River Hill High School) chipping in 2 goals each. Matthew Jun (Clarksville, MD, River Hill High School) continues to be a dominant face-off contributor as he went 16-21 and 10 ground balls.

Mark Bowser (Carlisle, PA, Carlisle High School) faced very little action for the first half, but was able to produce 8 saves on the day while backup Brandon Andrews (Columbia, MD, St. Vincent Pallotti) provided a shutout 4th quarter with 3 saves. With a combination of injuries and sickness, the defense still provided a stalwart effort from Parese Williams (Wilmington NC, New Hanover HS), Hayden Foster (Sykesville, MD, Century High School), Michael Russell (Silver Spring, MD, Springbrook HS), and Trey Lundelius (Bethesda, MD, The Landon School) as HCC showed off their amazing defensive depth.

The Dragons next take on Finger Lakes CC on Sunday March 20th with a 1:00 PM scheduled start.
