The Howard Community College (HCC) men's soccer program improved to .500 on the season as they get crucial conference win against CCBC Catonsville Cardinals (CCBC) in a two OT thriller.

HCC and CCBC both played superb defensively Friday at the Dragons Lair. Simon Bradford (/), Drew Meyers (/), and Sawyer Kennell (Woodbine, MD/Century HS) shut down the Cardinals offense the whole game not allowing any attack to amount to anything, while limiting CCBC to only five shots the entire match.

In the second half, both teams battled to get the advantage, with HCC controlling the game outshooting CCBC 15-2. The fierce rivalry between these two teams showed as they drew a total of six yellow cards.

90 minutes wouldn't decide the game between these two rivals as it would go into the 2nd OT before HCC finally finished the game in the 106th minute of the match. On a play where two CCBC Cardinals went down fighting for the ball Gabriel Rojas (/) took advantage of the opportunity dribbling just outside of the 18 and put the ball in the top of the net beating CCBC's keeper to end the game.

The Dragons will look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday when they travel to Bel Air to take on the Harford Community College Owls.
