Arnold, MD - A hard fought battle between two evenly matched teams saw Anne Arundel come away with a 1-0 victory in a game that had significant conference and regional implications.
In a match that saw much trepidation in the midfield with very few goal scoring opportunities. The Riverhawks were able to get on the board in the 20th minute when a giveaway in the Dragons defensive zone saw Anne Arundel take advantage and score through Mayglin Estrada.
That was just one of two shots that was on target for Anne Arundel in the match with goalkeeper
Kevin Villalta (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) saving the other one.
The Dragons struggled to get scoring opportunities with just three shots on goal all game, all of which came in a three minute stretch in the middle of the second half only to see all three saved.Â
Howard will next travel to Chesapeake College for another conference match on Thursday, October 4 at 4 PM.
