North East, MD - A valiant effort by the Howard volleyball team resulted in a straight set sweep for Cecil 25-22, 25-14, 25-20.

Howard continued to switch up at setter with Jasmyn Bumbray (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) earning eight assists and Sydney Tucker () adding 11.

Regardless of whomever was setting, the game plan was plainly evident as Mumbi Murugi-Kamau (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) took 44 attempts with 16 kills in the match.

Howard also had their best blocking performance of the season with Murugi-Kamau getting three blocks, Bumbray and Tucker getting two each and Elizabeth Quintin (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) adding one as well.

Presslee Floyd (/Reservoir) continued her progression on the squad, adding three service aces to the cause.

Howard will next host Southern Maryland on Tuesday, October 9 at 7 PM.
