Columbia, MD – The Dragons put forth a great effort in a very competitive match, but were unable to overcome the College of Southern Maryland falling 28-26, 25-20, 21-25,
Howard was able to fight off a trio of set points in the first set and even earned themselves a chance to take it themselves ultimately allowing the Hawks to finally finish off the set.
After falling behind early and being unable to come back in the second set, Howard followed up with a really strong third set that they went wire-to-wire on.
The fourth set saw the Hawks exert some more dominance in the match along with some costly errors by the Dragons to give Southern Maryland a four-set victory.
Mumbi Murugi-Kamau (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) took 48 attack attempts, earning 17 kills along the way with
Jasmyn Bumbray (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) picking up 15 assists.
Sydney Tucker () filled up the stat sheet with six kills, seven assists, nine aces and 10 digs in a great all around effort.
Howard will hit return home in a week to take on Frederick on Tuesday, October 16 for a 7 PM match.
