Columbia, MD -
Sabreen Muslim (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore City College) scored 25 points with 20 rebounds in a dominating game for the center, but Howard was unable to overcome Brookdale in a 75-55 loss.
The Jersey Blues jumped ahead early as Veronica Njie hit a few early three pointers to give the visitors an early boost as Brookdale went into halftime with a 46-24 lead.
Howard charged back in the third quarter as Muslim scored 12 points including a big three pointer from the top of the key to cut the Brookdale lead to 13. The Dragons continued to put pressure on Brookdale in the fourth quarter with an
Elaina Heisig (Glenelg, MD/Glenelg) three pointer to make it a 66-55 game.
Unfortunately, that was the last points the Dragons scored in the game as Howard went scoreless over the last five and a half minutes of the game.
Mia McCormick (Philadelphia, PA/River Hill) added a double-double to the cause with 16 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and five assists while Heisig scored 12 on a quartet of three pointers.
The Dragons will next travel to Montgomery County, PA on Thursday, November 8 for a 5 PM game.
