Blue Bell, PA - The Howard CC women's basketball team defeated Montgomery County CC in a landmark 66-52 victory. This broke a streak of 29 consecutive losses for the Dragons with their last victory coming against coming against Prince George's on February 8, 2016. This also represents the first win for head coach
Marvin Evans in his second year of being at the helm for the Dragons.
Howard jumped ahead 18-13 after the first quarter and never looked back as they increased that lead to 34-25 at halftime.
Sophomore forward
Sabreen Muslim (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore City College) once again led the Dragons with her third double-double in as many games to start the season with 21 points and 18 rebounds.
Elaina Heisig (Glenelg, MD/Glenelg) was on fire from long distance, shooting 5-9 from three point range to score 21 points and
Mia McCormick (Philadelphia, PA/River Hill), who played all 40 minutes in the game, added a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Shanta Johnson (Upper Marlboro, MD/Suitland) continues her progression as the point guard of the team with eight assists as she helped lead a Dragons team with only six active players to victory.
Howard will return home to face Massasoit on Sunday, November 11 at 1 PM.
