Columbia, MD - The Dragons rode a dominant first quarter to cruise onto a comfortable win over the Beaver County Titans 57-38.
From the start, the Dragons jumped out to a strong start.
Ashlyn McInerney (Hyattsville, MD/Hammond) Â got things going with a fast break layup. McInerney and
Mia McCormick's (Philadelphia, PA/River Hill) combined for six steals of the team's 16 steals in the first quarter which fueled a 20-3 Dragons lead including a 16-0 run.
Sabreen Muslim (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore City College) tallied her ninth double-double in her 10
th game which she had secured midway through the second quarter and closed out the first half with 21 points and 11 rebounds. She finished the night leading all players with 29 points and 21 rebounds. The Dragons went into halftime feeling confident with their 32-15 lead over the Titans.
McInerney opened the second half with a  long range jump shot to further the Dragons lead over the Titans as she finished the game with 14 points. McCormick added seven points and seven steals to the cause and
Cassandra Padellford (Truckee, CA/Truckee) brought down 13 rebounds in a strong performance for the forward.
Howard's defense was stellar in the game, holding the Titans to shooting just 27% from the floor and not a single three pointer was made against them.
The Dragons seek to continue their momentum as they face conference rivals Montgomery at 5 PM on Wednesday, December 5th in the Dragons Lair.
