How It Happened
  • The Dragons made the short trek west to Hagerstown, but they certainly felt at home with a dominating victory that saw Howard take 34 shots including 16 from freshman phenom Grace Pritchett (Dayton, MD/Linganore).
  • It was Pritchett who got the Dragons on the board after 30 minutes of play when a defensive clear found it's way to Kylie Toler (Fulton, MD/Reservoir) who gave Pritchett a great through ball to put her in on goal.
  • Just before the half time break it was Nikki Vieira's (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Adventista) turn to show off her through ball abilities, setting up Rylee Nieman (Mt. Airy, MD/South Carroll) for her first collegiate goal.
  • Midfielder Maddie Reeser (Sykesville, MD/Century) got control of the ball in the center of the pitch and gave Pritchett an opportunity to run onto the ball and take a shot from just outside the box and into the back of the net.
  • The Dragons added one more with less than two minutes to play in the contest as Nieman turned provider as her through ball into the box allowed Pritchett to hammer it home to complete her hat trick on the day.
  • Goalkeeper Cassandra Paddellford made six saves on the day to record her first career collegiate win and shutout behind a stellar defense.

Up Next
  • The Dragons will now prepare for one of their toughest tests of the year as powerhouse conference rivals Harford comes to town on Tuesday, September at 4 PM.
  • The Harford Fighting Owls are 1-1 start the 2018 season after a 7-0 win over Onondaga and a 9-1 loss versus Monroe College.
  • The Fighting Owls finished the 2017 season 19-2 and 7-0 in conference play including a 4-0 victory over the Dragons on September 19; the Dragons only conference loss of the seaon.
