How It Happened
  • The Dragons caught the powerful Fighting Owls by surprise just two minutes into the game as a Nikki Vieira (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Adventista) through ball found Grace Pritchett (Dayton, MD/Linganore) in on goal as she was able to get around the keeper and shoot it into an empty net.
  • Harford responded back in a matter of seconds as Rachel Bohli picked the ball up 40 yards from goal and dribbled all the way into the box and scored with the outside of her right foot into the goal.
  • Pritchett nearly doubled up five minutes later as she got past the Harford defense but fired her shot over the crossbar.
  • Kylie Toler (Fulton, MD/Reservoir) did a great job of opening up space for a shot as she made a great turn and shot just high of the net.
  • Howard again struck early out of the gates as Kylie Toler (Fulton, MD/Reservoir) hit a great long pass to Leigh McDonald (Loveland, CO/Mountain View) on the back post to tie the game at 2-2 in the 50th minute.
  • Harford took the lead back in the 68th minute as a through ball from Kasie Lambert put Bohli through for her hat trick.
  • With time running out Howard made one last run into the box as Toler was able to collect a cross and slide it over to Vieira who scored with less than three minutes left in regulation to tie it up and sent it to overtime.
  • Just over three minutes into overtime, the Dragons started a counter attack that saw Rylee Nieman (Mt. Airy, MD/South Carroll) slide the ball over to Claudia Brush (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) who found the back of the net for her first collegiate point of her career.
  • Cassandra Padellford (Truckee, CA/Truckee) was spectacular in the contest with 15 saves including 10 in the first half alone as she was supported
