Columbia, MD – Despite some improved play, the Howard Community College volleyball team was swept out of the Dragon Invitational.
The Dragons took on the powerful Sandhills Flyers in their final pool play match and fell 25-3, 25-6, 25-7.
Jessica Marquis (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) picked up eight digs for Howard and
Jasmyn Bumbray (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) led the team with two kills.
Howard moved into the Silver Bracket and went up against local rivals CCBC Essex with the Knights sweeping the match 25-12, 25-17, 25-18.
Elizabeth Quintin (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) slammed down four kills along with six digs and Marquis helped with seven assists, five digs and four aces.
The Dragons will go right into their conference schedule as they host Anne Arundel on Saturday, September 9 at 11 AM in a tri-match that will also see Howard face Butler County at 3 PM on the same day.
