North East, MD - A one-sided first half allowed Cecil to comfortably handle a depleted Howard squad 88-64.
Nathan Ferguson (Silver Spring, MD/Bethesda) scored 18 seconds into the game to give the Dragons the lead, but Cecil scored the next 16 points to take control and the Seahawks ended the first half on another 16-0 run to lead 53-24 at halftime.
Howard was able to find some rhythm in the second half, outscoring Cecil 40-35 in the second stanza, but it was too little too late for the slumping Dragons who have now lost nine straight and are 0-10 in conference play.
Kevin Yomba (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) led the team with 20 points while Devin Richmond and
Jesse Calloway (Lynchburg, VA/Heritage) added 14 points each.
The Dragons will next travel to regional rivals Northern Virginia CC on Monday, January 28 for a 7 PM game.
