Arnold, MD – The Dragons rebounded nicely from their first loss of the season to take down the Anne Arundel Riverhawks 89-67.
Daeshawn Eaton (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) scored a career high 21 points to lead a Howard team with 11 different scorers.
Howard got out to a bit of a slow start once again, conceding the first five points of the game before a 12-0 run by the Dragons got them going including a couple of log range shots by
Deven Richmond (Bowie, MD/DeMatha) and
Naquan Williams-Day (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) and an emphatic put-back dunk by
Joel Webb (Forestville, MD/Wise).
From there the Dragons never looked back as they were able to stay at a double-digit lead for the majority of the contest led by Eaton who went 9-11 from the field in the game.
Webb earned his first collegiate double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds including six on the offensive side.
Christian Matthews (Clinton, MD/National Christian) made a big contribution in the game with nine points, seven rebounds and five assists while
Cole Harshman (Baltimore, MD/Dulaney) added nine points as well.
DJ Tucker-Harry (Ellicott City, MD/Marriotts Ridge) closed out with 10 rebounds and eight points in his most influential game of the year to date.
Howard will next head to New Jersey for a weekend tournament that starts with Orange County CC on Friday, November 22 at 7 PM.
