Howard Handles Hagerstown 84-56

Columbia, MD - The Dragons dominated every aspect of the game on their way to an 84-56 rout over the Hagerstown Hawks as Howard improves to 3-0 in the conference.

Deven Richmond (Bowie, MD/DeMatha) got out to a flying start in the game as he assisted on Joel Webb's (Forestville, MD/Wise) fast break layup followed by a couple of long range hits to get the team started out well. He continued to be a monster as he had a steal and breakout dunk followed later by a put back dunk that caused a reading on the Richter scale on his way to a 14 point night. With Howard easily ahead by 20 at halftime, they were able to utilize their entire bench for the second half as 10 different players earned double-digit minutes.

Christian Matthews (Clinton, MD/National Christian) led the Dragons with a season high 20 points including a trio from long range and three blocks. Kelvin Sellman (Temple Hills, MD/Crossland) picked up another double-double to his name with 15 points and 11 rebounds to go along with four assists, four steals and two blocks. Naquan Williams-Day (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) scored a quiet 12 points as the Dragons had 10 different scorers in the game.

The Dragons will now prepare for the Harford Hoops Classic beginning with a game against the powerful Monroe College Mustangs on Friday, December 20 at 5 PM.
