Arnold, MD - The Dragons traveled to Anne Arundel to take on the host Riverhawks as well as the Butler County Pioneers, but were unable to come away with a victory.
Howard started the day against regional rivals Butler County and were swept in straight sets.
Sabrina Lagomarsino (Clarksville, MD/Atholton)Â had a strong day with three kills, seven assists and two aces along with a block.
Natalie Hosseini (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron)Â led the Dragons with four kills while fellow middle
Jordan Kent (Bowie, MD/Mt. Oak Christian) added a trio of kills.
Busola Akintude (Ellicott City, MD/Duval)Â saw action for just the second match of the season and picked up a block in the process.
Next up was Anne Arundel as the Dragons enjoyed their first four set match of the year. Howard lost the first set 25-13, but came back to win the second set 25-15. The third set was a nail biter as Howard barely lost it 25-23 before falling apart in the fourth set 25-11.
Hosseini once again led the team in kills with five while
Kira Thompson (Elkridge, MD/Atholton) had four kills and two aces with Lagomarsino assisting on 10 of the team kills.
The Dragons will keep on the road as they travel to Garrett College on Wednesday, September 18 at 6 PM.
