Columbia, MD - The Dragons built up a 24 point lead in the first half and were able to hold on for a big victory over Frederick 89-73.
Howard hit their first five shots to start the game highlighted by three pointers by
Christian Matthews (Clinton, MD/National Christian) and
Cole Harshman (Baltimore, MD/Dulaney) with
Deven Richmond (Bowie, MD/DeMatha) hitting from long range to build up an early lead for the Dragons. Matthews continued to hit big shots throughout the game on his way to a game high 21 point performance.
Kelvin Sellman (Temple Hills, MD/Crossland) continued to run the court with ease as he finished with 12 points, eight assists and seven rebounds with no turnovers. Richmond closed with 14 points while
Daeshawn Eaton (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) and
Hollique Smith-Johnson (Glen Burnie, MD/Old Mill) added 11 points each.
Howard will next host games on back-to-back games beginning with Baltimore City on Tuesday, January 21 at 6 PM.
