Columbia, MD - An incredible shooting performance in the first half surged the Dragons forward to taking down the Chesapeake Skipjacks 61-50.
The Dragons got out to a roaring start, going on a 15-0 run in the first quarter to take a 23-9 lead after the opening period. Howard's defense was up to the task against a Chesapeake team that towered over the Dragons with the Skipjacks shooting just 17% from the floor in the first half.
Chesapeake mounted a comeback as the Howard shooting started to cool off, but the defense will held strong as the Dragons were able to avenge the loss that ended their season back in 2020.
Kori People (Washington, D.C./Central) led the way for the Dragons with 16 points and nine rebounds along with four assists.
Kalani Corkeron (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake)Â added 10 points and six rebounds while
Jordan Dossett (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) chipped in eight points and eight rebounds. Nine Dragons scored on the day while all 13 players on the roster saw court time.Â
The 2-2 Dragons will next hit the road again as they go to New York for a couple of games, starting with Niagara County on Friday, November 12 at 7:30 PM.Â
