Niagara Stifles Dragons 72-45

Sanborn, NY - An off night offensively for the Dragons doomed them as they were routed by the Niagara County Thunder Wolves 72-45.

Howard got out to a slow start in the game, shooting just 27% from the floor in the first half combined with 21 turnovers meant the Dragons were behind 32-16 at halftime. The Dragons put together a nice 13-2 run in the third quarter to cut the deficit down to 13 as Lindsay Thweatt (Columbia, MD/St. John's Catholic) scored nine of her team high 13 points in the period. That proved to be as close as Howard would get as Niagara took control in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Kayla Allen (Sykesville, MD/Liberty) scored 10 points for Howard on 5-7 shooting from the floor while Madison Carey (Brandywine, MD/Frederick Douglass) added eight points and eight rebounds.

The Dragons will have a chance to rebound from the loss right away as they take on Lackawanna College on Saturday, November 13 at 3 PM in the Niagara County Tip-Off Classic.
