University Center, MI - A slew of turnovers combined with the size of their opponents doomed the Dragons in a 72-43 loss to the Wayne County Wildcats.
A strong start for the Wildcats saw them jump all over the Dragons for 24 first quarter points to set the tone of the game.
Kori People (Washington, D.C./Central) shot well for the day including 3-3 from behind the three point line, but 39 turnovers for the Dragons as a team was too much to overcome.
Kalani Corkeron (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) added nine points with
Jordan Dossett (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial)Â and
Kayla Allen (Sykesville, MD/Liberty) chipping in six each whileÂ
Sarah Deese (Woodbine, MD/Century) led the team with seven rebounds.
The Dragons will enjoy their first home game in over 600 days when they host the Hagerstown Hawks on Wednesday, November 10 at 5 PM.
Update (2/11/2022): Wayne County has forfeited the contest and the Dragons will officially be awarded a 2-0 win,
