Columbia, MD - The Dragons bounced back from a tough loss earlier in the week to take down the mighty Harford Fighting Owls in a big 3-1 victory.
With several midfielders already hurting,
Kyle Eylanbekov (/Wilde Lake)Â was thrust into the Howard center midfield as replacement starter
Abraham Jose-Zelaya (/Gov. Thomas Johnson) went out injured. Eylanbekov immediately made an impact and brought a fresh presence into the game for the Dragons.
The Dragons got out to a fantastic start to the game as
Mahmoud Mansour (/Homeschool) scored his first collegiate goal on a long range shot less than eight minutes into the game.
In the 15th minute, a free kick from just outside the 18 yard box was hammered home by
Michael Fields (/Howard) for his first goal of the year. Just 17 seconds later, it was
Minabien Kagira-Kargbo (/Moorland) getting in on the action as his long range shot was handled poorly by the Harford goalkeeper as the Dragons took firm control of the game.Â
Harford would later pull a goal back on a Kye Williams header, but the Dragons defense held firm after that.
The Dragons will get some time to rest before traveling to Carroll Community College on Thursday, April 22 for a 4 PM game.
