Westminster, MD – A depleted Dragons squad managed to still assert domination over the Carroll Community College Lynx in a comfortable 5-1 victory.
 
The Dragons got on the scoreboard first 10 minutes into the game as an ill-advised back pass by the Lynx central defender was pounced on by Mahmoud Mansour (/Homeschool) to hit the one timer into the back of the net.
 
Howard doubled their lead with 15 minutes left in the first half as another Lynx turnover was stolen by Leonard Dunor (/Sheyenne) who dribbled in and won the one on one with the Lynx goalkeeper.
 
Just before halftime, Trevor Kerr (/Reservoir) picked up a pass in the middle of the field and dribbled through half of the Carroll defense to open up a left footed shot into the goal.
 
The Dragons kept up the pressure right after intermission with a barrage of shots. Minabien Kagira-Kargbo (/Moorland) turned playmaker as he dribbled all the way down the right side of the field to the end line to find the cut back pass to Mansour for a one-timer into the bottom corner of the net.
 
After conceding a penalty kick goal, Kagira-Kargbo was able to hit a powerful header into the top of the net on a perfect Kyle Eylanbekov (/Wilde Lake) corner kick. Howard would complete the game with just 11 healthy players, but picked up a much needed regional victory.
 
The Dragons will turn their attention to another regional opponent in the College of Southern Maryland on Saturday, April 24 at 1 PM.
