Essex, MD - In the second meeting between the long time rivals, the #5 ranked CCBC Essex Knights avenged their overtime loss earlier in the season to defeat the #4 ranked Dragons 13-6.

The Knights scored first just 29 seconds into the game, but Howard responded back quickly. Brennan Treacy (Woodbine, MD/Saint Pauls) fired home from the middle of the box on a great Christian Quesada feed. Jordan Swoyer (New Market, MD/Linganore) scored five minutes later thanks to Drew Goode's (Gambrills MD/Arundel) pass and the Dragons were into the lead. A big momentum killer occurred late in the first half as it appeared Treacy had doubled Howard's lead, but his stick was deemed to be illegal as the goal was wiped off and he was given a three minute penalty. 

After that it was all Knights as they went on a 10-1 run over the next two quarters with only a Philip Peterson goal being scored in that time frame. Brian Zajac (Brookeville MD/Good Counsel) scored two fourth quarter goals and Kaden Ross (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) added one late, but the Dragons deficit proved to be too much to overcome.

Evan Hock (Sykesville, MD/South Carroll) played three quarters and saved nine shots while Liam Collins (Frederick, MD/Tuscarora) played the final quarter and added five saves. Brendan Tscherne (Baltimore, MD/St. Pauls) went 11-20 in the face-off circle.

The Dragons will return home for the regular season finale as they take on the College of Southern Maryland on Sunday, April 25 at 1 PM.
