Hagerstown, MD - The Dragons went to Hagerstown and found a worthy opponent as the Hawks swept Howard 25-8, 25-13, 25-8.
The Dragons managed to pick up nine kills in the match with
Samantha Matney (Elkridge, MD/Howard) and
Kayla Hendershot (Columbia, MD/Hammond) leading the way with two each. Hendershot also added two blocks with Matney and
Lauren Harwood (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) adding one each.
Mikaela Brewer (Gaithersburg, MD/Coventant Life) assisted on eight points in the match as she continues to be a model of consistency as the Dragons setter.
The Howard defense was put to the test with
Eryca Sterling (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) putting in a great effort with 15 digs.
Cassandra Marks (Columbia, MD/Long Reach) picked up eight with Brewer adding seven.
The Dragons will have a busy weekend ahead of them, with four matches in two days on the slate starting with a tri-match against Hocking College and Westmoreland County CC on Friday, September 24.
