Columbia, MD - Three first half goals surged the Dragons past Hagerstown as Howard CC defeated the Hawks for the second time this season.
Sofie Jobst (Fulton, MD/Reservoir) got things started in the sixth minute with a free kick goal into the upper part of the net to get the Dragons off to a great start. The Dragons would go on to double the lead in the 13th minute as
Jenna Naumann (Sykesville, MD/Century) and
Lillian Scott (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) combined to set up
Molly Nichols (Mt. Airy, MD/Glenelg).
Scott would find the back of the net herself nine minutes later as the tough work of
Tessa Cinotti (Laurel, MD/Reservoir) was able to open things up for Scott to continue her hot streak of scoring.
Remi Rollins (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) would finish out the scoring for the Dragons in the 75th minute with a fantastic individual effort to slice through the Hawks defense and score.
The Dragons defensive line of Jobst,
Sophie Pulone (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville), Celia Jackson, and
Riley Scott (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) were fantastic in the game, holding Hagerstown to just three shots the whole game.
Howard will next hit the road for a prolonged series of away games starting with a trip to Richard Bland College on Friday, October 1 at 2 PM.
