Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Hawks held the Dragon bats in check for much of the day as they swept the Dragons 7-0 and 5-3 respectively.
Game one saw the Dragons get shut out, managing just five hits in the game.
Danielle Thompson (Frederick, MD/Tuscarora) continued her hot streak going 2-3 with
Samantha Hobert (Elkridge, MD/Howard) also having a 2-3 day at the plate with each tallying a double.
Game two was much better for the Howard hitters, scoring first in the game to take a brief lead before Hagerstown answered with four runs in the bottom half of the first. Both teams were held scoreless for the next four innings in a row before the Dragons got back to it in the top of the sixth. The Dragons put across two runs to make it a one-run game, but a vital insurance run in the bottom half would make things difficult for the Dragons' comeback attempt.
Kaitlyn Burdette had herself a game, going 4-4 at the plate with two RBI including a moonshot home run.
Grace Tolle (Woodstock, MD/Marriotts Ridge) went 3-4 with a couple of doubles and a run scored while Thompson had another strong game hitting 2-4.
The Dragons will get nearly two weeks to recuperate as they next take on Potomac State on Sunday, April 24 at 1 PM.
