Rockville, MD – The Dragons traveled to their longtime rivals in Montgomery College as the Raptors were able to get the better of Howard in a 4-0 result to drop the Dragons to 1-6 on the year.
The two sides exchanged quality scoring chances early on, with
Jaylene Sotelo (/) having a long shot saved and
Molly Nichols (Mt. Airy, MD/Glenelg) saw her shot said just high.
Montgomery fired back and stole away a couple of first half goals on fast breaks against the run of play, but things got even worse for Howard when goalkeeper
Olivia Jackson (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial) went down injured as Gisselle Castillo filled in between the pipes to finish out the game for the Dragons.
Howard had their chances late on as
Melissa Villatoro (Riverdale, MD/Parkdale) out in a couple of strong shots that were saved by Montgomery, but the Dragons fell to the Raptors 4-0 after two more second half goals.
Howard CC will now prepare to host the Dragon Invitational over the weekend as they will start with Union College on Saturday, September 17 at 2 PM.
