Columbia, MD - A strong Potomac State Catamounts team arrived at the Dragons Lair with a strong squad and left with a 3-0 victory over the Dragons.

Howard went down 17-10 in the first set, but won seven in a row to tie up the set with Mikaela Brewer (Gaithersburg, MD/Covenant Life) picking up three aces in the run. The Dragon errors piled up after that as the Catamounts pulled away for a 25-19 set win.

Potomac State jumped out to an 8-1 set two lead which they held on to for the duration despite a couple of strong comeback attempts by Howard, taking it 25-21. 

With another strong crowd presence backing them up, the Dragons came out swinging in the third set as back-to-back aces by Eryca Sterling (Columbia,MD/Wilde Lake) had Howard ahead 15-13. Jessica Hendricks (Woodbine, MD/Covenant Life) and Morgan Conner (Sandy Spring, MD/Sherwood) had a couple of massive shots to keep the Dragons tied at 18-18, but the Catamounts responded by jumping out to a 24-19 lead. The Dragons made one last surge to comeback, winning four straight points to stave off the match until Potomac State finally closed the match out on their fifth attempt.

Conner finished with eight kills, 11 digs, and two blocks on the day while Hendricks and Brenna Siperko (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) each chipped in five kills. 

The Dragons will have no time to get down on themselves as they take on Cecil College on Friday, September 30 at 6 PM.
