Philadelphia, PA - Three strong quarters by the Dragons was not enough as they ran out of steam to allow the Harcum Bears to come from behind to defeat Howard 68-55.

Seeking revenge from a loss to Harcum earlier in the season, the Dragons jumped out to an early lead thanks to a fantastic defensive effort that held the powerful Bears team to just 13 first quarter points.

Howard was able to take a three point lead into halftime, but the third quarter saw Harcum stifling the visiting team as the Bears led 40-36 going into the final period. From there, the Dragons just couldn't keep up their momentum as the Bears scored 28 points in the final 10 minutes of play to defeat Howard once again.

Julia Harrington (Baltimore, MD/Baltimore City College) had one of her best games as a Dragon with 17 points and nine rebounds, shooting 7-10 from the floor as part of a Howard team that shot 57% on field goals. Nhaikyia Smith (Waldorf, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti) scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four assists to go with Mikiyah Mallett (Pasadena, MD/Old Mill) who also scored 13 points with eight rebounds. Sydnei Harmon (Largo, MD/Charles H. Flowers) chipped in a nine point, nine rebound performance along with three blocks.

The Dragons will get to face another familiar foe next when they travel to Sullivan County on Saturday, January 21 at 12 PM. The two teams met up on a neutral court back on January 11 with the Dragons prevailing over the Generals 68-56.
