Baltimore, MD - A dominating performance by the Dragons in their regular season finale saw them defeat the Baltimore City Panthers 25-6, 25-9, 25-8.
With playoff seeding on the line for Howard, they came out firing early and controlled the first set from start to finish. Knowing the importance of the match, the Dragons never let their foot off the gas pedal as they plowed their way past Baltimore City over the next two sets to secure the victory.Â
Sydnei Harmon (Largo, MD/C.H. Flowers) slammed down nine kills to lead the team while
Vanessa Miller (Germantown, MD/Gaithersburg)Â added six and
Lal Mawi (Laurel, MD/Reservoir) finished with five.
Makayla Holland (Gaithersburg, MD/Gaithersburg) went back to where she started the season as the team's setter, assisting on 25 of the 29 team kills.Â
The win secures the #7 seed in the Region 20 as they will prepare for the tournament in Hagerstown, MD. Howard will face off with the #2 seed Southern Maryland Hawks on Saturday, October 28 at 10 AM. The Dragons fell to Southern Maryland back on October 4 in a match that the Hawks won 3-0.
