Virginia Beach, VA - The Dragons started out the 2023 season with a pair of losses at Bryant & Stratton, falling 14-0 in game one and 10-2 in game two. 

Howard was able to put together seven hits in the game led by Danielle Thompson (Frederick, MD/Tuscarora) going 2-2. Kasey Smith (Jessup, MD/Hammond) reached base both at bats as Samantha Hobert (Elkridge, MD/Howard) took the loss in the game. 

The Dragons fell behind early in game two, but managed a couple of runs as Alyssa Kelly (Laurel, MD/Reservoir) was able to get a couple of hits including an RBI double with Katelyn Burdette (Frederick, MD/Walkersville) scoring off a Danielle Thompson (Frederick, MD/Tuscarora) sacrifice fly.

Kasey Smith (Jessup, MD/Hammond) pitched her first game for the Dragons and managed a couple strikeouts against the powerful Bobcats lineup.

Howard will now travel to Myrtle Beach for the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic where they will compete in 10 games over five days.
