Front Royal, VA - The Howard Community College Women's basketball team continued their impressive winning streak on Saturday afternoon, defeating Christendom College by a score of 71-55.
The game was a close one early on, with the Dragons and Crusaders tied at 16 after the first quarter. However, Howard pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring Christendom 14-7 to take a 30-23 lead at halftime.
Going into the second half, the Dragons continued to control the game against the Crusaders, increasing the deficit by 16 points. At the end of the third quarter, Howard Community College led with a score of 48-32. Christendom made a run in the fourth quarter, to tie the Dragons with a total of 23 points scored, but Howard held on to secure the victory. The Dragons were able to get a number of impressive stops on defense to open up scoring on their end of the court, and only allowing for a total of 55 points from their opponent, and brought back a 71-55 point win back to Dragon Country.Â
