Nhaikyia Smith (Waldorf, MD/St. Vincent Pallotti) with a career-high 28 points, Howard shot 56.1% from the field to cruise to a 102-43 victory over Monroe CC. The 59-point win is the Dragons largest margin of victory in two years and expands the Dragons winning streak to two games.
Smith ignited things early in the contest, as she drained both of her field-goal attempts and added two shots from the line giving the Dragons a 7-0 lead in the opening minutes of the first quarter. Niagara able to tie things up at nine, but back-to-back three-pointer from Smith and Jaylah Putman (Jacksonville, FL/Long Reach) create a gap once more. Dragons finish out the first quarter ahead 17-12.
Howard Community College didn't slow heading into the second quarter with a 22-12 lead, after a quick bucket in the paint from smith and three-pointer from Putman. Sydnei Harmon (Largo, MD/C.H. Flowers) gets in on the action adding two from the field, with an assist from Mikiyah Mallett (Pasadena, MD/Old Mill). Defensively, the Dragons locked down the Tribunes, limiting them 26.67% from the field and 14.9% from beyond the arc. Dragons extend their lead going into halftime with a 39-21 advantage.Â
Dragons opened scoring in the third quarter with a fast-break jumper from  Madison Carey (Brandywine, MD/Frederick Douglass). The Tribunes looking to light a fire of their own sinking back-to-back three-pointers to decrease the scoring gap, but a plus-one finish for Harmon  gives the Dragons a 21 point lead. Seven minutes left in the contest and a turnover from the Tribunes opens up scoring for Nhiakyia Smith who earns her seventeenth point of the match. Continued pressure from the Dragons with a 18-0 scoring run to secure a 65-28 advantage. The Dragons held a 39-point advantage after three quarters with an 75-36 gap.
Asaani Offer (Annapolis, MD/Catonsville) heats up early in the fourth with 6 out of 8 of the Dragons points before fouling out, but able to seize 48-point lead. Howard hit 100 points after a step-back three-pointer by Nhakyia Smith with under 30 seconds left to play. A final fast-break layup by Putman gives the Dragons an extensive 59-point lead at the end of the fourth, with a final score of 102-43.

Flowers) both contributed 11 points each, and Zakiyyah Brown (Upper Marlboro, MD/Friendship Collegiate Academy) adds two points and three rebounds.Â
The Dragons continue their road tour Saturday afternoon against Harford Community College in Bel Air, MD. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 pm.
