La Plata, MD - After back-to-back losses, the Howard Community College men's soccer team returned to the win column with a 2-0 victory over Southern Maryland.
Facing an opponent inside the top five of Region 20, the Dragons returned to their early season form. The defense held the Hawks to just six shots, with goalkeeper
Luke Ryerson (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) recording a clean sheet.
On offense, the Dragons struck first when
Truce Norton (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) scored in the 30th minute.
Bliden Elung (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) added an insurance goal late in the contest off a pass from
Mateo Moore (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) to ice the game, giving the Dragons a 2-0 victory and their seventh win of the season.
The Dragons, ranked third in Region 20, next return home to face fourth-ranked Prince George's on Thursday, October 3 at 4:00 PM.
