Columbia, MD - Howard Community College's men's soccer team debuted in wonderful fashion on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Hagerstown 6-0.
After building up a 3-0 halftime lead thanks to three different scorers, the Dragons extended it with two quick goals to start the second half. From there, the Dragons cruised to victory.
Howard struck first early with a goal by
Mark Adja (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. Hebron) nine minutes into the game.
Darian Paz (Fredericksburg, VA/Stafford)Â joined the fun with a goal of his own, and
Fode Doumbouya (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) came off the bench to score his first career goal late in the period. The second started with quick back-to-back goals by
Samson Ogunleye (Geneva, SWIZT/Mt. Hebron) and
Bryan Barrientos (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville), extending the Dragons lead to 5-0. Adja put the finishing touch on the board with a late goal, making the final 6-0.
Moore and fellow forward
Sam Santos (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) led the Dragons with six shots each. Paz had two assists to go along with his goal. Adja finished with five shots, two shots on goal, and two goals.Goalkeeper
Luke Ryerson (Ellicott City, MD/Howard), in his JUCO debut, recorded a shutout with four saves.
