Rockville, MD - Howard Community College's men's soccer team suffered their worst loss of the season on Thursday night, falling to Montgomery College 8-0.
Out-shot 20 to five, the Dragons fell behind early and never recovered. Montgomery led 3-0 at the half, then scored four goals in the first seven minutes of the second half to put the game away.
Four Dragon players recorded one shot each.
Bliden Elung (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) and
Rafa Benetiz (Hyattsville, MD/Eleanor Roosevelt) came off the bench to record their shots, while
Darian Paz (Fredericksburg, VA/Stafford) had the only shot for the Dragons in the first half.
Sebastian Fonseca (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) came close to scoring in the second half, but was denied by Montgomery's defense.
The Dragons next face off against Southern Maryland on Tuesday, October 1 at 2:00PM.
