Box Score Columbia, MD - Howard Community College's men's basketball team continued their dominance of Region 20 with a blowout 89-44 win over Westmoreland County Community College on Saturday.

The Dragons dominated Saturday's game from start to finish, out-rebounding the Wolfpack 63-36 and forcing 24 turnovers. Three Howard players scored in double-digits as the Dragon's bench had their best game of the season.

Howard jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the opening minutes and never looked back. Led by a perfect 4-4 shooting from Truth Norton (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) and two threes from Colin Harshman (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville), Howard kept their foot on the gas, leading by as much as 23 deep into the quarter. Westmoreland ate into the lead just a bit before the half, but with Howard up 41-20 at the half, chances of a comeback were slim.

Howard's bench took control of the game in the second half, with all but three Dragons scoring. Sincere Barfield (Baltimore, MD/Patterson) took control in the paint, dropping 14 points and seven rebounds in the half. Three different Dragons hit three pointers as the lead ballooned to 45 by the end.

Barfield was the leading scorer for the Dragons with 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Jaden Johnson (Upper Marlboro, MD/Dr. Henry A. Wise) hit two threes, scored ten points, and added five rebounds and five assists. Truth Norton (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) notched ten points and two steals, while Christian Dean (Elkridge, MD/Long Reach) added nine points, three assists, and five steals.

Off the bench, Arthur Roaché had an excellent day with nine points, ten rebounds, and seven assists. Colin Harshman (Baltimore, MD/Catonsville) hit two deep threes for nine points and five rebounds. Nathan Hiteshew (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) had a career day with seven points, while Savion Gowder (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac) returned to the lineup with five rebounds and four points. Emanuel Henriques (Baltimore, MD/Benjamin Franklin) added six points and four rebounds, while Anthony Djami (Paris, France/Brequigny) locked down the middle with ten rebounds, five points, and three blocks.

The Dragons have a quick turn-around as they face the Community College of Beaver County on Sunday, January 26 at 12:00 PM.
