Largo, MD - Howard Community College's women's soccer team lost their eleventh game of the season on Thursday in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Prince George's Community College.
Despite a solid defensive showing, the Dragons were unable to generate enough offense to force a comeback.
Kaily Ok (Hanover, MD/Marriotts Ridge) proved to be the only Dragons able to get shots off, with four on the evening.
The Dragons kept the game close thanks to solid defensive play from starters
Alexis Smithson (Highland, MD/River Hill) and
Natalia Santos (Long Island, NY/Home School), as well as help off the bench from
Sophie Eyidi (Laurel, MD/Oakland Mills) and
Olivia Mayhew (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills). Goalkeeper
Bella Buscher (Glenelg, MD/Glenelg) was excellent once again, recording 14 saves while only allowing three goals. The Dragons finally allowed a goal late in the first half, and their 1-0 deficit was the lowest it had been all season. Two more Owl goals in the second half put the game away, though the Dragons kept it close throughout.
Howard's next opponent will be Division I Harford on Tuesday, October 14 at 6:00 PM.
