Columbia, MD - It was a fifth straight loss to open the season for the Howard Community College Dragons on Thursday, as they fell 11-0 to the Hagerstown Community College Hawks.
The Dragons fell behind 9-0 in the first half as they were held without a single shot by their Division I opponent. After a goalie change, the Dragons managed to hold the Hawks to just two more goals in the second half before the game ended early via mercy rule. The loss marks the third loss by double-digits this season for Howard and their third mercy-rule loss.
Goalkeeper
Bella Buscher (Glenelg, MD/Glenelg), who took over halfway through the first half, recorded 15 saves for the Dragons while allowing just five goals. Howard's offense had its weakest performance of the year, recording zero shots.
The Dragons will look to regroup next week as they face the Allegany College of Maryland Trojans on Tuesday, September 16 at 3:00 PM.
