Cumberland, MD - It was a difficult afternoon for the Howard Community College women's soccer team, as they fell 9-0 to a dominant Allegany College of Maryland Trojans team on Tuesday.

The Dragons struggled to find their footing out of the gate, conceding three goals in the opening 21 minutes. Allegany applied constant pressure to the Dragons defensive line, with goalkeeper Bella Buscher (Glenelg, MD/Glenelg) facing an onslaught of shots throughout the afternoon. Buscher was able to make 22 saves, a season high.

The Trojans built a 5-0 lead at the half, leaving the Dragons a mountain to climb. Howard attempted to regroup in the second half, showing flashes of resilience through the midfield and short passing sequences. However, they were unable to break through Allegany's line.

The Trojans scored four more goals in the second half to close the game out, though Howard did get close to scoring in the final minute with a corner kick. The loss drops the Dragons to 0-6 on the season.

Howard now turns its attention to a tough match against national powerhouse and defending Region 20 champions Anne Arundel on Thursday, September 18.
