Columbia, MD - It was pure domination on Tuesday night for the Howard Community College Dragons, as they kicked off the second half of the 2025-26 season with an 82-59 blowout win over Delaware Tech.
Big splash plays from
Cedric Harville (Baltimore, MD/Ben Franklin) and
Sincere Barfield (Philadelphia, PA/Patterson), along with seven three pointers, combined to give the Dragons a complete team victory. The win moves Howard to 10-7 on the season and gives them three wins in their last four games.
Howard opened the night with a bang, jumping out to a 20-6 lead in the opening seven minutes. Back-to-back threes from SIncere Barfield and
Evin Thompson (Silver Spring, MD/Sherwood), along with a circus ally-oop dunk by
Cedric Harville (Baltimore, MD/Ben Franklin) gave Howard a lead they never surrendered. Harville put ten points on the board in the first half as Howard led 49-29 after one period. In the second, the Dragons snuffed out a potential Delaware Tech comeback, then rested their starters as the bench cleaned up the contest. Solid shooting from
Kanye McMahon (Lexington Park, MD/Chopticon) and
Jake Tillman (Atlanta, GA/Lakeside) grew Howard's lead to 28 at one point, and the Dragons coasted to an 82-59 win.
Harville finished the contest with 16 points, six rebounds, two blocks, and two steals, earning Player of the Game Honors. Tillman knocked down 15 points, two rebounds, and three steals, while Barfield added 12 points, three three-pointers, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Lorcan Hyndman (Sydney, Australia/Bishop O'Connell) added seven points, four rebounds, and two steals, while
Myles McDuffie (Baltimore, MD/Lake Clifton) scored seven points, four rebounds, and two assists.
Matt Dalton (Sykesville, MD/Bishop O'Connell) added six points off the bench, along with five rebounds, while ZioN Dixon had a solid game off the bench with six points and three rebounds.
Juan Bell (Silver Spring, MD/James Hubert Blake) led the team with seven assists and five steals at the point.
The Dragons next face their toughest test of the season as they host the top-ranked team in Region 20, Prince George's Community College, on Friday, January 9. Tip-off will be at 10:00 AM in a matinee for local elementary school children.
