Columbia, MD - The Howard Community College League of Legends Teams suffered a pair of losses as the Gold Team fell to Upper Iowa and the Maroon Team to Newberry College.

In the first match of the night, the Gold Team took on a top-heavy Upper Iowa University team that had their star player lead them to a couple of quick victories over the Dragons. Gene Patrick Dones (Laurel, MD/Laurel) came through with a solid performance in both games for Howard, but the team as a whole was unable to get any kind of momentum. 

In the night cap, Newberry College jumped out to a quick start and never looked back as the Dragons were outmatched. Andrew Wells (Ellicott City, MD/Marriotts Ridge) and Abiola Monk (Ellicott City, MD/Wilde Lake) each had positive performances in the first game, but the Wolves of Newberry were too strong.

The Dragons will get back to action on Thursday, October 8 as Maroon Team will get their shot at Upper Iowa and the Gold Team takes on Randolph Macon University in a match streamed by the NECC conference broadcasters.
