UCLA Shuts Out Dragons In Rocket League Opener

Columbia, MD - In the first ever match for the Howard CC Esports program, the Dragon Rocket League team was shut out 3-0 in the best of five match as the mighty school from the west coast was relentless from beginning to end. Howard CC are now 0-1 in the Rocket League Fall Brawl hosted by Hood College with UCLA going to 1-0.

The Dragons came out defensive in the first match as the trio were unable to get a shot on goal with the UCLA team keeping the ball in their attacking end for most of the round with a 9-0 win.

Howard came back with their best performance in round two as they were able to show off their defensive skills with seven saves led by Jeremy Hotchkiss with four and Oscar Minota with two as they were able to hold UCLA to a 7-0 round two win.

Round three saw the Dragons get more agressive with Matthew Peck putting a couple shots on goal, but the Bruins goalkeeper made three saves to complete the sweep.

Hotchkiss led the way with 765 points accumulated thanks in large part to seven saves, while Minota added 517 points and Peck had 429.

Howard will next face off against Central Methodist University on Thursday, September 10 at 8:30 PM.
