Hagerstown, MD - Howard Community College's men's cross country team brought home the gold on Saturday, winning their first Region 20 title since 2019.
Led by sophomore stars
Ryan Thibaudeau (Fulton, MD/Reservoir) and
Brandon McMillen (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills), the Dragons placed three runners in the top-15 of the men's race. The Dragons finished second overall behind Division I Hagerstown, but best of the Division II schools to claim the title.
McMillen led the Dragons with a 29:46.69, finishing fifth overall. Thibaudeau came right behind in sixth with a time of 30:08.53.
Pedro Egudu (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) completed the top 15 with a 34:07.42.
Daniel Warner (Mariottsville, MD/Marriottsridge) finished outside the top-15 but did hit a new personal record with a 35:39.33, while
Oluwayanmife Osinubi (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) set a season best.
In the women's race,
Iyona Davis (Annapolis, MD/Annapolis) led the way for the Dragons with a 28:03.50.
Aniya Clerisier (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) finished second with a 28:05.12, while
Rashelle Buynum (Columbia, MD/Wilde Lake) completed the top-three Dragon finishers with a 30:59.64.
