Columbia, MD - Six members of the Howard Community College's men's soccer team made All-Region honors, with three members being named First Team All-Region, Two Second Team All-Region, and one Honorable mention.

Freshman Forward Denny Mora (Hyattsville, MD/Northwestern) (Ellicott City, MD/Mount Hebron) after an excellent season was named First Team All-Region. Mora earned a total of 13 goals by the end of his season. With his illusive footwork Denny had his best game vs Garret on September 6th, where he scored a whopping 4 goals in a 7-0 victory. Mora scored twice or more in two games this season. The playmaking ability was on full display this season recording 8 and totaling the second most shots on goal for the Dragons with 40. Mora aided his teammates with 3 assists in their second game of the season on August 29th vs Fredrick CC, the final score read 5-1.Â

Freshman Midfielder Yeabsira Tesfaye (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia/St. Ragueal Church) (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) had nothing short of an impressive season and was named First Team All-Region because of it. Tesfaye earned a total of 13 goals by the end of his season while leading the team in assists with 12. Yeabsira earned a hat trick for the Dragons come playoff time, on October 30th, against Anne Arundel Community College, Tesfaye scored all three goals, advancing Howard to the next round, 3-0. The play-making ability was out of this world throughout the season, Yeabsira had 5 games with 2 or more assists, contributing all over the field. On September 18th, vs Anne Arundel Community College Tesfaye passed for 3 assists aiding the Dragons in a 6-0 victory.Â

Sophomore forward Bryan Barrientos (Hyattsville, MD/Northwestern) was named First Team All-Region after being a consistent threat for this Dragons team all year. Barrientos finished top four in goals totaling 7 on the season. Bryan was also very versed with his play-making ability, finishing third on the team in assists with 7. He finished aggressively with 33 shots on goal, starting in all 18 gamesÂ

Freshman Midfielder Kiar Sani (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia/St. Ragueal Church) (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) was such a contributor to this squad all season and was named First Team All-Region. Sani earned a total of 11 goals by the end of his season and earned 1 assist. Sani had the highest shot on goal percentage with .767 %. Sani has had two games this season with two goals. Kiar gave the Dragons the lead, with a crucial goal in their comeback win vs Cecil College on October 25th.Â

Sophomore goalkeeper Jonathan Sanchez (Ellicott City, MD/Mount Hebron) after a phenomenal season was named Second Team All-Region. Sanchez finished his season recording 55 saves and allowing just 12 goals for a goals-against average of 0.71 and a save percentage of .821 Jonathan started in all 18 games, recording twelve shutouts.

Freshman Midfielder Nicholas Mirecki (Glenelg, MD/Glenelg) (Glenelg, MD/Glenelg) Mirecki finished the season with a goal on October 9th, versus Prince Georges Community College. He took the scoring lid off for the Dragons and the final score was 3-0, improving the season record to 11-0. Nicholas's assist was during playoff time, against Anne Arundel Community College. This was to Yebsira Tesfaye, accounting for one of his three goals on the day. Mirecki was a solid piece for this Dragons team and ended the season with 10 shots on goal.
